This condo resort is an easy Real Gem and one of our faves on the south shore. It’s 25 acres, run like a hotel and was completed in 2017, but opened in phases beginning in 2011. Units are wholly owned, but some remain part of the vacation rental pool. Furnishings are all similar in rental units and expensively outfitted with granite counters, Wolf appliances and everything you could need in the kitchen. The doors to the lanai slide open into the walls in corner two- to four-bedroom units, so the square footages we list include the lanai on those units. The one- to four-bedroom units are very generously sized to begin with, so with the added outdoor living space you have a more-than-comfortable room. The bathrooms are very large, most with separate, deep soaking tubs and walk-in showers. Even the studios are comfortable with extra sofabed, kitchenette and full-size washer/dryer but without the granite counters or Wolf appliances and just walk-in showers in the baths.
Buildings 6 and 7 surround the adult pool with its waterfall. The largest, 350,000-gallon saline meandering pool (one of the largest on the island) takes up much of the courtyard space with its waterfalls, bridges, islands and waterslides. It’s truly one of the most outstanding pools we’ve seen on the island—easily rivaling the Grand Hyatt’s. There are cabanas for rent by the pool. The Lagoon pool (the resort’s original pool) by buildings 2 and 3 may be a great place to get some peace and quiet as it is often found empty. Though this resort is near the ocean, there is no beach fronting the resort, only a road and a rocky coastline. Buildings 6, 7, 8 and 10 are closest to the ocean and most likely to have an unobstructed view of it. Also on the property are fire pits, soccer field, volleyball court and a putting green—all the equipment is left out for your use.
There is a small marketplace that will deliver to your room or the pools. The restaurant by the pool features typical island fare and shave ice at not-too-confiscatory prices. They also will serve you poolside at the main pool. You can also ask them to do grocery shopping prior to your arrival for your unit. There is a free shuttle to take you to the beach and area restaurants. Housekeeping is daily for studios (one-bedrooms, other units get a tidy every third day).
Since opening their 12,000-sq.-ft. ballroom, this resort has become popular for destination weddings. And the grounds are so lovely that photos taken on site will be memorable.
Prices vary by view and season, and views vary a lot here. Studios are 500 sq. ft., 1/1 units are 1,100–1,350 sq. ft., 2/2 units are 1,350–1,620 sq. ft., 3/4 units are 2,350–2,580 sq. ft., 4/5 penthouse units are 3,664 sq. ft.
