A hard one to classify. The building looks and feels like a hotel, but it’s a condo. Half the rooms, called A rooms, are approx. 604 sq. ft., condo-type 1/1s (meaning they have a kitchen) with excellent views south down the coast. B rooms (210 sq. ft.) are available as hotel-type rooms or added on to the A rooms to make a 2/2 unit. The B rooms by themselves have poorer views and no lanais. (Only the 7th and 8th floors rise above their neighbor.) 1/1s have sliding shoji doors separating the bedroom from the living room.
The resort was built in 1973, but the common areas were remodeled to look like a trendy urban hotel. Some of the rooms currently don’t match the look of the hotel’s common areas, but they are very clean. Adjacent to an excellent beach (Keawakapu). Cultural demonstrations on site weekly. A few units may not have A/C, so be sure and ask. Overall, good staff attitude. 3- to 7-night minimum.
